Week 6: Spittal Pond

Hi Guys,

How was your week? This week was good but I had no footage. I had a meeting with my mentor Melanie Fiander. Who by the way is amazing and the best mentor I could ask for.

Ms. Melanie has been so helpful to me during my project this summer. She has helped me to shoot in manual mode and edit photos like a pro. Before her, I had no idea how to shoot in manual mode or what it even was. She graciously taught me what it was and how to use it. Not only did she tell me how to do it but she showed me and helped me practice. Without her, my photos would be worse. Now with her help, my photos are better.  I want to personally say thank you, Ms. Melanie, for everything you have taught me this summer. I can not wait to work with you this September! If you need someone to take your photos I would definitely recommend her. Check out her website at www.fianderfoto.com/ Also check her out on Facebook, @FianderFotoPhotography and follow her on Instagram @fianderfoto.

For this week Ms. Melanie and I, for our last meeting, went to Spittal Pond and took some pictures. I honestly can’t remember the last I went to Spittal Pond, so it was a really fun experience. It was really fun and full of laughs and I had an amazing time.

In the photos below there are photos of lizards, palm trees, water, and rocks. Interesting right? I promise you that the photos are actually interesting. We saw a rooster in training aka a baby rooster just walking around. I got to take an up close picture of him which was really cool.

I think this might become like a “mini” series on my blog. Where I go to various touristy places and take pictures. For example, I could go to elbow beach and take pictures or Shelly Bay. Let me know if you think this is a good idea or not.

I leave for England on Tuesday. Yay! Be ready for amazing photos of various objects and places. I went there last summer for two weeks and now I’m going this summer for three weeks. Funnily enough, last year when I went to England I got my camera. It’ll be cool to see the different quality in the pictures I took last year and now

One last thing before I go if you have any ideas on pictures I should take or any ideas for weeks, let me know in the comment section below. Or if you have any suggestions on places I should go to in England. Let me know, I’ll be sure to check them out!

Anyway enough of my rambling, I hope you enjoy this week’s photos!

See you next week!

  1. Hi Carissa. Love your photos. I completely forgot you were doing this project. You have to go walking with your mom and I sometime. Have a great trip and I look forward to seeing your photos from England.
