Hola Chicos,
¡Bienvenido a Peru! For those of you who don’t speak Spanish I just said “Hi Guys, Welcome to Peru!” I just spent the week in Peru and it was amazing.
Last week Thursday I took a plane from Bermuda to Miami and then to Peru. In Miami we had about a six to seven hour layover and you can see what we got up to by clicking here. Once we landed in Peru it was about 12 am Miami time which is 1 am in Bermuda and 2 am in Peru. In other words we were up really late. Then the next day we had to be up at around seven to do a walking tour of Lima.
Although we were up for insane hours that day it was arguably one of my favorite nights and days in Lima. The sky in Lima was foggy and gray and almost look white. It was quote simple and beautiful and the pictures taken from it, turned out really well.
After Lima we than took a plane to the Sacred Valley, Cuzco. A lot of people got sick while we were up there because the altitude was high and the air was thin. The sky was also different here as when we got there it was sunny and the light was hitting everyone perfectly making for some really good photos.
In Cuzco we also went to Machu Pichu, and let me tell you it was amazing. Machu Pichu is one of the “modern” seven wonders of the world and it was a sight to see. My first view of it actually took my breath away it was breathtaking. Little unknown fact about me: I love mysteries. I especially love unsolved mysteries in today’s world. It fascinates me that in today’s world with our development of technology that there are still mysteries that haven’t been solved. Machu Pichu is a perfect example of this and I am extremely blessed to be able to see it. The weather on Machu Pichu was quite cloudy making some of the photos dark but with some editing the photos look as good as new.
As you’ll notice in the photos most of them of are of other people and a few of nature and that presented a whole set of problems. At first I had faith in my friends and would think that they would give me credit for a picture I took. Wrong. They didn’t and instead I had to bombard them to ask for a tag. Then some of them were difficult and said that having my picture on their Instagram is recognition enough. Well it’s not, if you’re an inspiring photographer and are taking photos of other people. Before you give other people photos watermark them, by the end of the trip all of my photos were watermarked. Since they were sent to other people and I got no credit for them, this is a problem many photographers face and there is no real solution. Since watermarking the photo often leads to either the image quality going down or the photo being ruined.
If you need to watermark your photos I recommend Photoshop as it’s easy to use and looks professional. I didn’t have Photoshop downloaded on my phone so instead I had to research good watermarking apps and I ended up downloading two. One worked and the other was trash. The one that worked is called Watermark, if you look up watermark on the app store it is the third option that comes up.
Anyways enough of my rambling, I hope you enjoy this week’s photos!
See you next week!
